Program description |
Magic NetTrace combines ping, WHOIS and traceroute functions into one friendly easy-to-use utility. The program can track the route your packets follow on the way to any existing IP address or web host and perform WHOIS lookup for all hosts your packets come through. Magic NetTrace performs the WHOIS lookup in the Internet IP registry. If a domain name associated with a particular IP address exists, Magic NetTrace will also lookup this domain name in the various domain registries. The data supplied enables you to identify the geographic location of a web host or an IP address, the number of hosts passed on the way to the destination, and the remote host response time. Magic NetTrace can also retrieve IP addresses of ICQ contacts and identify geographic locations of your ICQ buddies. When you install the program, it adds a quick start button to the Internet Explorer toolbar, letting you trace the route to any page currently open in the browser window. Unlike many other programs, Magic NetTrace uses multithreading to perform traceroute and WHOIS queries, which provides a dramatic performance increase. You can save all traceroute results to a file, copy them to the clipboard or print.
